Sophisticated New Fake ID Card Causing Problems for Bars

Shops, bars and nightclubs across the US are having to deal with young adults trying to purchase alcohol, in a bar in the US a young man tried to buy himself a beer and showed a fake drivers licence, the man behind the bar asks him to leave. Then a few minutes later another young man comes to the bar with exactly the same fake ID card to which the barman replied “Do you think I am some kind of an idiot?” This is happening daily due to the easy access of fake ID cards.

Due to the internets success these cards are no longer just advertised in the back of magazines but all over the internet are adverts offering free fake ID templates and DIY fake id kits. The US police force is working hard to get trace these advertisers and get them closed down. If this is successful then the kids will not be able to keep trying to break the law. Unbeknown to the kids purchasing these fake id cards they are not only breaking the law themselves but their actions could destroy a business if the fake id is not picked up by a bar worker or shop keeper.

In a town called Pittsburgh restaurant and bar officials rarely seize the fake id cards, the person is just asked to leave the establishment unless of course they decide to cause trouble. Bartenders sometimes find it easy to spot someone carrying a fake id card as they act a bit strange, they look nervous, make no eye contact, and look a bit jittery. Many of the barman don’t think the number of fake id cards has increased they just think that due to the sophisticated technology used to produce them they are harder to spot.

Even though some of the bars have new procedures put in to place to try and stop the use of fake id cards in their bars etc it is still difficult for them to recognise all of the fake id cards that are being sold. Most fake id cards confiscated are from Michigan, New Jersey and New York as these licences are the easiest to try and copy.
