Fake Identity Card Investigation at the University of Georgia USA
Hundreds of students at the University of Georgia, USA have had their names given to the University of Georgia police for possessing fake identity cards. The students have been given the opportunity to cooperate with the police regarding this investigation or they may face charges. Jimmy Williamson the university of Georgia police chief said this is possible the largest fake identity card ring in America’s university campus history. Chief Williamson also stated that they had uncovered a large fake ID manufacturing operation.
The university students that have purchased a fake national identity card within the last year have been given the opportunity to hand over their fake ID card and sign a police statement form. The students that do this will not be arrested. So far over three hundred fake identity cards have been confiscated by the university of Georgia police department. The police are in the process of building a case against the fake ID card supplier.
The police department have found three fake identity card manufacturers that have fifty to sixty people distributing the fake ID cards at the University. They Police believe the fake identity cards have been sold to over sixteen hundred students. One of the fake ID manufacturers had kept records of who had purchased the fake identity cards. The police have seized the fake ID cards supplier’s computers and hard drives. The company have provided the police with an electronic paper-trail providing police with the student’s information.
Some of the students have handed their fake ID cards to police while others were visited by the police department. One of the students Jackson Smith knows some people who have purchased the fake ID cards and had the police knocking on their door. Jackson said the police just asked for the fake identity cards but did not arrest the students although they were pretty scared.
Some of the students have received telephone calls from the police department asking them to hand their fake ID cards in. Unfortunately the students think it is some kind of joke and do not believe the phone call is genuine. When the police finish the investigation then they will be in contact with those who will not surrender their fake ID cards and will be pressing charges against those students. According to the police the students purchased the fake identity cards for one hundred American dollars.
